Development of skills
At Italgas, training is designed to develop the skills required by our business strategies. Altogether, in 2015, we provided over 63,000 hours of training to 2,140 participants for a total of 4,757 attendances.
We pay particular attention to the transfer of specialist technical know-how typical of technical specialists and workers, for which skill in maintenance procedures is recognized as a distinctive element. Specific training courses are designed for the various professional categories and for the new resources in the company.
Training takes place in classrooms and through on-the-job coaching, focusing on internal teaching by experts and by collaborating with external training institutions and external training organizations of excellence. For widespread transfer of specific knowledge we make use of e-learning. Some of the most significant activities we carried out in 2015 are:
- training on the "New Organizational and Operating Model" that involved the entire Company, from executives to the middle managers to the technical specialists and all the way to blue-collar workers;
- training on the evolution of the Work Force Management systems, both for technical specialists and for workers, also with regard to new devices (tablets);
- introduction programmes for young adults with a degree, characterized by meetings and experiences in the field, in direct contact with the real business world.
Continuing the actions of previous years, we continued to provide the training required by applicable regulations on health, safety, environment and quality. All our training courses in the field of "health and safety" were organized and delivered in accordance with the provisions of the States and Regions Agreement of 21 December 2011.
