Ideas4Italgas
Launched in 2020, Ideas4Italgas addresses the world’s best Startups and Scaleups with a view to enhancing research and contributing to the improvement of the Group’s performance.
What is Ideas4Italgas?
Italgas, in 2020, launched an open innovation programme to select the best national and international Start-ups and SMEs to support the transformation and sustainability of gas distribution networks. Thus was born the ‘Ideas4Italgas: Gas grid of the future’ programme. The 2022 edition, compared to the previous ones, introduces new research through the formula of permanent scouting: a “radar” always active on technological and entrepreneurial novelties. The areas of interest are: digitalisation (cloud, edge computing and IoT devices), analytics and data management, operation & maintenance, grid monitoring, metering, sustainability and circular economy, biomethane, hydrogen and synthetic gases. The research is mainly oriented towards international Startups and Scaleups (with a focus on Europe and Israel) that develop products and services based on sustainable and original business models in line with Italgas’ strategy.

NewGen Construction Site
“NewGen Construction Site” is included within the “Ideas4Italgas” program, through which we aim to promote innovation and research into solutions and technologies that enable the formation of a sustainable construction site.
We want to shape the future already now, promoting innovative and sustainable scenarios with the aim of realizing the construction site of the future that integrates technical, environmental and social aspects.
The initiative is open to any team of two or more people who have a winning idea to propose to us and to companies established as start-ups and SMEs.

Supplier driven Innovation
The “Supplier driven Innovation” initiative, included within the “Ideas4Italgas” program and turning to SMEs and large companies, aims to promote and stimulate innovation in the sectors of gas distribution, water distribution, and energy efficiency within four identified thematic areas: Operational Excellence, Digitization, Sustainability, and an Open Challenge.
To give shape to new innovative scenarios, we want to promote the culture of innovation in the supply chain and we need the contribution of SMEs and large companies that work or have worked with Italgas and know its infrastructures and processes, or that want to establish a new fruitful collaboration.
