Also in 2019, the Italgas share was included in the main international SRI stock indices, thus improving the company's visibility towards socially responsible investors and, more generally, the entire financial market.

Since 2017, the Italgas share was included in the FTSE4Good index series, which gave a positive assessment of the group responses to strict criteria of the independent FTSE approach in Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) terms.

The FTSE4Good Index covers a series of ethical stock market indices that include all companies assessed positively in terms of sustainability criteria (environmental, social and governance) and which demonstrate their adoption of transparent management and good sustainability practices. In particular, the FTSE4Good Europe Index is the index that brings together the most virtuous European companies in terms of social and environmental responsibility standards.



Dow Jones Sustainability Index

In 2019 Italgas has been included for the first time in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index World.
Italgas is the only Italian utility in the gas distribution sector included in DJSI World and the third in the world.

RobecoSam's DJSI series of indexes tracks the performance of the leading global companies in terms of economic, environmental and social criteria.




Italgas share is included in the MSCI Italy Small Cap Index from January 2017 and during 2018 has been confirmed with an AA rating (A in 2017).

The MSCI Global Sustainability indices include companies with a high sustainability rating among those of the sector they belong to.





Italgas share is included in the ECPI Euro ESG Equity and ECPI World ESG Equity indices.
ECPI focuses on ESG performance indicators (Environmental, Social, and Governance) that determine the sustainability profile of an issuer. ECPI uses an objective approach, differentiated by industrial sectors in the analysis of ESG data with the aim of translating mostly qualitative information into quantitative indicators, thus assigning to each issuer a score and a rating.



CDP  “Climate change A-LIST”

Italgas has been recognised by CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project) as an international leader in the implementation of strategies and actions to combat climate change.
CDP is a not-for-profit charity that runs the global disclosure system for investors, companies, cities, states and regions to manage their environmental impacts.


Standard Ethics

Italgas received the E + sustainability rating, with stable outlook, from the non-financial rating agency Standard Ethics. The Standard Ethics Rating is an assessment of the level of compliance of companies and nations with the sustainability and government principles that come from the European Union, OECD and the United Nations.


Certain issues, such as occupational health and safety, the quality of services provided, the environment and energy efficiency, for us represent material issues for the business which call for constant and careful monitoring of company processes and business activities.

This is why we decided to adopt specific management systems, certified according to the most recognised international standards. In particular, Italgas Reti frameworks the operations management of health, safety, environment, energy efficiency and quality aspects of the management systems certified, respectively, by the OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001, ISO 50001 and ISO 9001 standards and implemented at the level of each operating company under the coordination of the central HSEQ Function of Italgas and the Energy Manager of Italgas Reti.
