
Stefano Mereu
Born in Rome in 1971.
Stefano Mereu holds a degree in Economics from La Sapienza University in Rome.
His career started in Aeroporti di Roma in 1999, taking on various roles until he became Head of Commercial Development.
His career continued in infrastructure and real estate development in Lamaro Appalti, dealing with large urban regeneration projects under concession.
As of June 2008 he became Commercial Director in Grandi Stazioni, leading the commercial requalification of 14 of the main Italian stations dedicated to high speed trains. He managed the in-house advertising agency, leader in the Travel Out Of Home market. He contributed to enhancing the company’s retail branch on the market in the privatisation procedure through an international tender. In the new company resulting from that process, Grandi Stazioni Retail Spa, he continued as Chief Commercial Officer and Member of the Board of Directors.
In September 2017 he was appointed CEO in Mercato Centrale, innovative Food & Beverage sector format, based on the production of the territory’s artisanal excellences and on requalification of historical buildings in the main town centres, leading size development through implementation of the Business Plan, restructuring of the Group, its governance, organisation and financial strategy.
In 2018, he became Professor and member of the Organizing Committee of the Master’s degree in Institutional Advertising, multimedia communication and creation of events at the University of Florence.
In October 2019 he joined Italgas SpA as Chief Executive Officer of Gaxa, Group gas sales company dedicated to the methanisation project in Sardinia.
In June 2022 he became head of Post-closing Integration and Extraordinary Deals.
