Wellgas: the Welfare plan of Italgas

With the aim of continuously enhancing our people’s quality of life, we created Wellgas—our welfare program structured around four key areas.

Family

  • Family

    We are committed to actively supporting work-life balance by offering measures that go beyond legal requirements. During mandatory maternity leave, we top up the statutory allowance to 100% of the employee’s salary, compared to the 80% provided by law. We also grant an additional 5 days of fully paid paternity leave, on top of the 10 days already guaranteed by legislation. From birth until the child reaches three years of age, we provide a financial contribution for each child to reimburse nursery school fees. To further support the educational journey of employees’ children, we offer scholarships and additional forms of assistance, including loans for school-related expenses (such as books and educational materials), vouchers for online lessons, and low-interest loans of up to €5,000. These loans are repayable over three years through salary deductions and are available for eligible family-related expenses.

  • Sustainability and mobility

    We support daily commuting by offering discounted travel subscriptions and dedicated mobility partnerships at both national and international levels.

  • Health and prevention

    Our healthcare assistance fund provides employees and their families with supplementary medical benefits in addition to those offered by the National Health Service. Participation in the fund is voluntary and allows members to benefit from the company’s financial contribution on their behalf. We also provide life and permanent disability insurance coverage, as well as protection against both work-related and non-work-related accidents and illnesses. In addition, all employees and their families can access discounted gym memberships through a dedicated platform, benefiting from a network of around 2,000 sports centres across Italy, as well as online fitness subscriptions via app. The programme is dedicated to all Italgas employees and is also available on the dedicated App.

    • ItalGym, the first Italgas gyms

      We have opened iGym fitness centres at our Milan, Turin, and Rome offices, dedicated spaces for wellbeing and physical activity that are freely accessible to all employees. The facilities are equipped with changing rooms and showers and feature fully equipped fitness areas, always supervised by qualified personal trainers.

    • Flexible Benefit Plan

      Employees eligible for the productivity bonus can choose to convert a portion of their Bonus into welfare goods and services for themselves or their family members, with no tax or contributions applied. In addition, we provide an additional Welfare Bonus equal to 19% of the converted amount to all those who have chosen to convert their Bonus into Welfare Credit.

    • IGym

      Abbiamo aperto le palestre iGym nelle sedi di Milano, Torino e Roma. Questi spazi sono accessibili gratuitamente a tutti i colleghi e dispongono di docce e spogliatoi. Le aree fitness sono ben organizzate e sempre supervisionate da personal trainer professionisti.

    • Supplementary Pension

      Our employees may voluntarily join the contractual pension fund, which provides benefits in addition to those offered by the public pension system. Membership allows participants to benefit from the employer’s contribution paid into the Fund on their behalf.
