We are leaders in gas distribution in Italy and Greece, and with the acquisition of 2i Rete Gas, finalised in April 2025, we are the European champion in the sector. In over 185 years of history, we have brought energy to Italian homes, businesses and communities, contributing to the country’s economic and social development.

The Industrial Plan 2025-2031 marks a historic milestone with €16.5 billion in investments, the largest in the Group’s history.

The integration of 2i Rete Gas, completed in just 90 days with the migration of data and processes, has strengthened the Group’s industrial profile, allowing it to revise its future objectives upwards. The plan includes investments in the development and digital upgrade of networks in Italy and Greece to make them smart, flexible infrastructures ready to manage growing shares of renewable gas, such as biomethane and hydrogen, thus ensuring the efficiency and stability of the energy system.

Our business in Greece, launched in 2022 with Enaon, is a key part of this commitment, contributing to the decarbonisation process and the phase-out of coal and lignite envisaged by the European Union.

This technological drive now extends to the water and energy efficiency sectors, which are set to receive almost €800 million in funding. In the water sector, the aim is to step up investment to reduce losses and streamline management through the digitalisation of networks. In energy efficiency, the challenge is to offer increasingly advanced solutions in the sectors in which we operate.

Technological innovation, digital transformation and the widespread use of Artificial Intelligence are distinctive features of the Italgas Group in all its activities. The 2025-2031 Strategic Plan envisages, in fact, an increase in investments both for the digital transformation of assets and to strengthen the presence in the energy efficiency sector. Our goal is to play a leading role in the energy transition path towards the decarbonization of the economy and consumption, and for the achievement of the European Union’s climate goals.
