Simone Agulini
Head of Internal Audit
Born in Rome in 1979.
He graduated in Law in 2004 from LUISS Guido Carli University in Rome and was admitted to the Bar in 2007.
He began his career at the law firms Grande Stevens, Allen & Overy, and Gianni Origoni, where he gained solid experience in litigation and strategic legal advisory in complex regulatory environments, with a particular focus on compliance and risk governance for listed Italian and international companies, especially in the automotive, infrastructure and energy, real estate (including the “Porta Nuova” project in Milan), insurance, and banking sectors.
In 2014, he joined 2i Rete Gas (formerly Enel Rete Gas), a company controlled by the infrastructure fund F2i, whose start-up phase he had previously followed. He took on roles of increasing responsibility, ultimately serving as General Counsel, leading a team of 20 people. He also held the positions of Secretary to the Board of Directors, Head of Integrated Compliance, Member of the Supervisory Body (ODV), and member of the Executive, Tenders, and ESG Committees, as well as Board Member of affiliated companies.
He supported the company in all M&A transactions and related integration projects, corporate finance and capital markets operations (including the launch of the first and subsequent EMTN programmes), and managed key compliance matters in the areas of H&S, Privacy, Legislative Decree 231/01, market abuse and transparency regulations, and IP. During the acquisition by Italgas, Europe’s leading gas distribution operator, he led legal and interim management activities on behalf of 2i Rete Gas.
As of 2025, he serves as Head of Internal Audit at Italgas.
