For this reason, the digitization process – is accompanied by a commitment to support Italgas’ workforce through upskilling and reskilling initiatives, allowing employees to effectively navigate and anticipate the changes brought by digital transformation. This innovative approach has proven increasingly effective, providing the people of Italgas with the skills and tools necessary to interpret and use the vast amount of data generated daily by the IoT sensors installed in the infrastructure we invest significantly in the development and training processes, with the aim of inspiring and guiding the behaviors of all our people in the path of profound transformation that we have started. Our goal is to strengthen key competencies, support digital and sustainable transformation, and realize an inclusive organizational culture.
As the main challenges of digital transformation pass through people, our 2023-2029 Sustainable Value Creation Plan includes major investments in upskilling and reskilling, with a focus on digital learning. In addition, with the Italgas Academy, we guarantee continuous managerial and cultural growth, conveying our purpose among the different businesses and managers.
A fair transition also means widely disseminating digital knowledge and knowledge related to the energy sector: this is why we are launching training initiatives that go beyond the boundaries of our organisation.

To guide the reskilling and upskilling of the Group’s people, and to encourage the acquisition of the skills necessary to achieve the ambitious objectives of our strategic plan, we have set up a Corporate Academy.
IG Academy expresses our leadership model and develops training programs based on three pillars: Excellence, People and Innovation.
- Excellence: emergency management, innovative technologies, design of works, Project Management courses and much more.
- People: for the enhancement of soft skills and inter-personal relationship management skills
