Fabio Barchiesi

Fabio Barchiesi, Chief Executive Officer of CDP Equity; Deputy General Manager and Investment Director of CDP SPA

Born in Rome in 1982, Fabio Barchiesi holds a Master’s Degree in Economics, an Executive Master’s in Business Administration from LUISS Business School and an Executive in Planning, Strategy and Control from Bocconi University.

He currently holds the position of Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of CDP Equity, and Deputy General Manager of CDP SPA, with responsibility for the Investments, Human Resources, Transformation, Information Technology and External Relations Department.

In his role as Chief Executive Officer of CDP Equity, Barchiesi leads venture capital investments in systemically important companies and funds, combining value generation with support for the growth of the Italian industrial system and its competitiveness on an international scale.

Previously (from 2021 to 2025), he held the position of Chief Executive Officer of Staff and Head of Implementation of CDP’s Strategic Plan and Initiatives, managing relevant strategic projects and monitoring the construction sites of the Business Plan. In addition, from 2023 to 2025, he held the position of Director of Development, Governance and Business Equity at CDP Equity, managing selected strategic projects in the equity field and implementing solutions functional to the enhancement of equity assets

Fabio Barchiesi is a member of the Board of Directors of Italgas S.p.A., as well as Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Italian Technology and Growth Fund (FITEC). Previously, he was also a member of the Board of Directors of CDP Real Asset SGR S.p.A. (from 2022 to 2024), Greenit S.p.A. (from 2022 to 2025), Autostrade per l’Italia S.p.A. (from 2024 to 2025), Holding Reti Autostradali S.p.A. (from 2024 to 2025) and Ansaldo Energia S.p.A. (from 2022 to 2026).
