Gianmarco Montanari

Non-Executive Independent Director

He has a degree in Management Engineering, business Administration, Company Administration and Management, Administration Sciences and Labour Consultancy, Law and Economics for Companies, and also obtained the Board Director Diploma from the IMD Business School in Lausanne. 

He is qualified to practice as an engineer, a journalist publicist, financial advisor.

His career started in Rieter Automotive Fimit S.p.A. (1997-1998), as a Italian Division Controller and Assistant to the CFO and CIO. He then became Senior Manager in A&G Management Consulting S.r.l., an Italian company providing professional services in Italy and abroad (1999-2004).

His professional experience was further enriched in the banking sector as Director of Global Services for Unicredit Group S.p.A. (2005-2009) and then as Central Director for Equitalia S.p.A. (2009-2013). 

Between 2013 and 2016, he was General Manager for the Turin Municipality, as Chairman of the Independent Assessment Body and Disability Manager. 

He is currently the General Manager of the Italian Institute of Technology, with special interest for the research sectors related to the area Energy, Lifetech, Sustainability, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Computational Science, Start-Nano materials. He is also Independent Director and Chairman of the Compensation Committee and Member of the Appointments Committee for FinecoBank S.p.A.; NED and Member of the Compensation Committee of Tinexta S.p.A.; Independent Board Director of ITES S.r.l. – Information Technology Engineering Services, Reale Group; and Board Director of Turin University.
