Italgas achieves OGMP 2.0 “Gold Standard” status for the sixth consecutive year and the highest reporting level (L5). Gold Standard Reporting also awarded to Enaon

Milan, 16 October 2026 – Italgas has achieved “Gold Standard” status for the sixth consecutive year, reaffirming its international leadership in measuring and reducing methane emissions. The recognition was awarded as part of the An Eye on Methane 2026 report by the International Methane Emissions Observatory (IMEO), established by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) with the support of the European Commission.

The Company has also maintained L5 reporting level, the highest under the OGMP 2.0 standard, awarded only to companies that adopt advanced methane emissions measurement methodologies based on the integration and comparison of data collected through two independent detection systems. This approach ensures greater accuracy and reliability in quantifying emissions across the entire asset chain.

At the same time, Enaon – the Group company operating in gas distribution in Greece – has achieved “Gold Standard” status, reaching L5 reporting level. This achievement demonstrates Italgas’ ability to replicate its industrial model in international markets.

Italgas has also reaffirmed its commitment to renewing its participation in the programme for a further five years, until 2030. This commitment entails a 72% reduction in emissions from gas leakage by 2030 compared with the 2020 baseline, while continuing the monitoring and reporting activities that have enabled the Group to achieve Gold Standard recognition in previous years.

The IMEO report highlights the ambition and robustness of Italgas progress in implementing the OGMP 2.0 standard, with particular emphasis on:

  • the acceleration of monitoring campaigns, with over 150% of the network inspected;
  • the “super emitters” programme, aimed at ensuring prompt intervention in the event of significant emissions;
  • “smart maintenance”, which integrates machine learning and field data;
  • the automation of emissions assessment processes through the SIDERA digital platform;
  • the development of predictive models for above-ground pipelines in critical areas, in collaboration with research centres;
  • the use of advanced technologies, including Picarro’s CRDS (Cavity Ring-Down Spectroscopy), for highly sensitive and timely detection.

The recognition awarded to Italgas and Enaon confirms the effectiveness of an industrial model that integrates technological innovation and sustainability, capable of generating environmental value and driving change through scalability and replicability.

The An Eye on Methane 2026 report is based on data from the fifth year of implementation of the OGMP 2.0 framework, the standard introduced by UNEP in 2020 and now a global benchmark for methane measurement, reporting and mitigation strategies, in line with Net Zero roadmaps and the Methane Emissions Regulation adopted by the EU in 2024.

Italgas Reti starts managing the natural gas distribution service in the Turin 5 ATEM

Over €87 million in investments planned to expand and digitalise the network across the 76 municipalities in the Area, creating approximately 1,000 new jobs in related industries.

Turin, 5 October 2026 – Today, Italgas begins managing the natural gas distribution service in the Turin 5 Territorial Area (ATEM), which includes Ivrea and 75 other municipalities in the Canavese area. The start of operations follows the signing of the 12-year service contract on 27 March 2026 at the Municipality of Ivrea, the contracting authority for the Area, which had launched the tender awarded to Italgas.

Following the award, the Company will launch an investment plan worth over €87 million to extend and strengthen the network, modernise the facilities and complete the replacement of traditional meters with latest-generation electronic meters, in an ATEM with 58,000 customers and 64 municipalities already served by the natural gas network.

“With the start of operations in the Turin 5 Area – commented Pier Lorenzo Dell’Orco, Chief Executive Officer of Italgas Reti – we are following through on the commitment we made to the local area when the service contract was signed. With over €87 million in investments, we will bring gas to the areas of Canavese that are not yet served and digitalise the existing infrastructure. We are building a network ready to accommodate renewable gases, such as biomethane and hydrogen, supporting the energy transition of the local area.”

The significant investment plan will have a substantial impact on local GDP, with positive effects on the productive system and the overall employment rate of the two provinces.

The extension of the service to new areas will create approximately 1,000 new jobs in related industries and contribute to an overall reduction in atmospheric emissions of approximately 171,000 tonnes of CO₂ and 3,000 tonnes of particulate matter.

Italgas signs a binding agreement with Marubeni and Toho Gas to acquire a 22.5% stake in Floene

Milan, 2 October 2026 – Italgas Group signed a binding agreement with Marubeni Corporation and Toho Gas Co. Ltd. to acquire 100% of Meet Europe Natural Gas, the company that holds a 22.5% stake in Floene, Portugal’s leading gas distribution operator.
