The second edition of White Energy Week, the Alternanza Scuola-Lavoro project promoted by Seaside, is now underway

Bologna, 4 March 2019 – Today the second edition of White Energy Week, the Alternanza Scuola-Lavoro project promoted by Seaside, a company of the Italgas Group, an Italian company at the forefront of innovation for energy efficiency, in partnership with ENEA – the National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development and the Regional School Office for Emilia Romagna. The initiative, which started today in many secondary schools in Emilia-Romagna between the provinces of Bologna, Modena, Ferrara, Rimini, will be extended during the year also to high schools in Sardinia and Molise.

The White Energy Week aims to transmit to young people the culture of energy efficiency and environmental sustainability, increasing their awareness of issues related to environmental protection and raising awareness of the need to progressively reduce their footprint on the planet.

After the great success of the first edition, from today until Friday, March 8th, students in the 3rd and 4th classes of different scientific high schools will face a complex training course of 40 hours to discover the “professions of the future” – such asEnergy Manager, Energy Management Expert or Energy Data Science – learning first of all to collect and analyze correctly the energy consumption data of their homes and then to make an energy diagnosis of their home.

The students will thus practise the collection of energy, economic and environmental data, carrying out special inspections in the houses and acquiring the necessary documentation, so that they can subsequently analyse the data and draw up the final energy diagnosis, which will then be presented by them in the presence of teachers and families.
The edition of White Energy Week for the school year 2018/2019 will see the involvement of 25 classes from Emilia-Romagna, with the active participation of 25 Seaside and ENEA tutors who will interface with the approximately 650 participating students.
The project – for which Seaside obtained in 2017 the authoritative “Innovators Responsible” Award, awarded by the Emilia-Romagna Region – represents a moment of growth for young people, offering them the opportunity to acquire specific skills and get in direct contact with the green economy and the world of work.
