The new GasOnLine is… online!

From today, 16 April 2018, GasOnLine is all new!

One of the first applications for the exchange of information between operators in the gas distribution sector has been profoundly renewed:

  • the homepage has a new graphic design, designed to communicate important news and deepen topics of common interest
  • menus are structured to access functionality more easily and effectively, thus simplifying access to services, content and tools
  • the availability of tools has been expanded , with advanced search engines that make the portal more user friendly
  • access profiles have been revised and articulated by subject areas, in order to make access to functionalities more consistent with the different corporate organizations.

Technology and operators’ needs are constantly evolving and for this reason the reference areas of the GasOnLine IT platform, such as regulated services, additional services, utilities and communication, will be developed with continuous fine-tuning, in order to give more and more support to the daily work of sales operators.

Italgas Historical Archive and Museum

The first project for the creation of a historical archive and an exhibition of objects and documents of the gas industry, in line with the objective of safeguarding and enhancing the heritage of history and technology that the company had at its disposal, dates back to the 1980s. On 31 December 2016 also came the recognition of “considerable historical interest” issued by the Archival Superintendence for Piedmont and Valle d’Aosta. In 1994, thanks to the impulse of historical institutes and scientific research committees, the most suitable location for hosting and exhibiting archival materials and objects was identified, located in Via Po 53. As a result of the great increase in the number of exhibits and the type of materials conserved (which now include interactive and multimedia elements), the Archives and the Museum are currently housed in the technological headquarters in Corso Palermo 3, at the Italgas Management. The interior spaces include an exhibition section (consisting of a collection of historical finds relating to the history of the gas industry), an archive section (which houses a historical collection of documents relating to the gas sector) and a Study Centre (consisting of a library and rooms equipped for meetings and conferences).

Italgas is one of the success stories of Apple

Technology is an opportunity capable of revolutionizing the way that companies work. An opportunity which Italgas has been able to fully grasp: the company has been included among the success stories of Apple.

Deploying approximately 2,500 iPads to technicians and workers who work on infrastructures or with customers -, Italgas has revolutionized some of the activities related to gas distribution. The project envisaged the endowment for the technical staff of an iPad and Gas2Go, an app that facilitates work: technicians receive the list of activities to be performed directly on the device, they can request support through FaceTime, record all customer data, and optimize transfers via Apple Maps.

Gas2Go has allowed the reduction of about 30% of the daily mileage, the resulting reduction Of CO2 emissions and the activation of a paperless process with the progressive elimination of Paperwork documentation. With the introduction of GasToGo, a marked increase was also noted average completion of the activities, with a significant 100% increase in productivity.

“Our employees have embraced iPad with great enthusiasm. For some it’s the first time they’ve had a digital identity. They now have complete control of their day’s work, a better quality of work and enjoy being able to provide a higher level of customer service.”, said Gloria Gazzano, CIO of Italgas.

Italgas’ history has been suited for innovation for 180 years – a value that inspire present and future.

Italgas on the Stock Market

After 13 years, Italgas is back to the Italian Equities Market (MTA). On Monday 7 November, during a ceremony at the headquarters of the Milan Stock Exchange, the traditional ringing bell has kicked off the trading of the stock.

The Company returns on the stock market with all its values, based on competence, efficiency, innovation, reliability and security. A heritage of 180 years of experience, a history that changed Italy – began when Italy was not unified yet. In fact, the first listing of Italgas dates back to 14 July 1851, when the Company was listed at the Stock Exchange of the Kingdom of Sardinia, founded in Turin by Cavour. Later, Italgas joined the Milan Stock Exchange in 1900.

Italgas’ stock inherited the historic stock exchange ticker “IG”, which also inspired the hashtag #IGisBack conceived to tell the story of this important return on the Milan Stock Exchange.
